  1. I had to look up the name, but I believe it is Situs inversus. the organs are on the opposite side of the body! I think!

  2. I'm sorry, I'm not legally allowed to give a diagnosis: I just take the pictures, but you can ask your doctor.

  4. yep seems situs inversus. the stomach shadow also seems to be on the right. the hilim n costophrenic angles look normal though.

  5. I would call it situs inversus as well, but the Radiologist was not comfortable confirming because we don't see many abdominal organs. The other possibility would be dextracardia - where the heart is the only organ on the opposite side and all abdominal organs are normal. Too bad there were no prior abdominal studies!

  6. What is that artefact obscuring the left ACJ? I can't seem to work out what it could be...

  7. Also just practising a little image critique here if I may - would you agree the patient's midcoronal plane was not positioned parallel to the image receptor? Reasons leading to this conclusion: Left SCJ is more open than the right one, left medial border of the scapula is within the lung fields and spinous processes closer to the right lateral margin of the vertebrae. Have I missed any?

  8. @Daniel great critique... I agree with you. slight rotation toward the patient's left. The artifact you are seeing is the tech's left marker. There is an "L" and a gap where the tech's initials were (I photoshopped them out), and a circle with a bb in it over the left acromioclavicular joint. The circle on the marker also appears to have a gown snap in the lower half similar to the one seen over the patient's right shoulder.
